Food Stamp Calculator

This calculator has five steps. You will answer questions about:

2. your assets
3. your income
4. your household expenses
5. The final step will tell you how much you may receive in food stamp benefits each month, how to apply for them, and how to print the food stamp application from this website.

The Food Stamp Program has many rules. This calculator covers most of the rules, but not all of them. In special situations, you may be eligible for a different amount than the calculator tells you.

• Many non-citizens are eligible to apply for food stamps; even if some members of your household are not eligible, you can still apply for those who are. For a list of which non-citizens can qualify, click here. If you have ineligible non-citizens in your household, it may be helpful to call the FoodSource Hotline (1-800-645-8333) for a more accurate estimate of your benefits.

Only the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) can make the final decision about your benefits. When you finish the calculator, you will learn how to find your local DTA office. You can apply in person or send your application to the your local DTA office by mail or fax.
